PowerShell: module basics

Work out the set of folders which currently hold modules:

$env:PSModulePath -split ";"

Pick one to hold the module you will write. For me I’ll use the Program Files location:

For this example, I’ll call my new folder Random, and I’ll create a new module Random.psm1 inside that folder.

Now, whenever you start a PowerShell command prompt or ISE session, that module is available.
